Baxter International Expands Manufacturing Capabilities in Ireland

Baxter International Inc., a global leader in medical products, will invest more than E75 million over a six year period of time to introduce new technologies and higher value products to its manufacturing plants in Ireland.

Baxter International Inc. currently owns two manufacturing facilities in Ireland which jointly employee over 1000 people. This investment will expand their operations to introduce new generation manufacturing processes, upgrade existing facilities, and provide for extensive re-skilling of the existing workforce to enhance the production of drug delivery systems.

Baxter International is a global leader in the manufacturing of medical products to assist healthcare professionals and their patients with the treatment of complex medical conditions including hemophilia, immune disorders, kidney disease, cancer, trauma and other conditions. The company developed the first commercially manufactured intravenous (IV) solutions. The company manufactures a line of Baxter Syringe and Infusion Pumps. Popular products include the Baxter Infus O.R. Syringe Pump, the Baxter AS50 Syringe Pump, and the Baxter 6301 Infusion Pump.

Welch Allyn donates equipment to Europe’s largest intensive care simulation center

Welch Allyn, a leading manufacturer of frontline medical products and solutions, has donated medical equipment valued at approximately £30,000 (over $60,000) to a new simulation center which was opened at the University of Hertfordshire. This center is considered to be one of Europe’s largest and most advanced clinical simulation facilities.

The Welch Allyn donation included an EKG Monitor, a Spot Vital Signs Monitor, Harvey Elite stethoscopes, and an Integrated Diagnostic System which includes essential diagnostic instruments such as an otoscope, ophthalmoscope and thermometer.
