Project Cure Provides Sugical Equipment to Ghana

Project Cure, a non-profit organization in the USA, has shipped surgical equipment and disposable items to Ghana on behalf of the management of Golden Star Resources Limited, Wassa Mine, a mining company operating in the Mpohor Wassa East District.

This shipment is the first part of a pledge by the company to provide medical equipment that will improve the health care deliver of the people of its catchment area. The first shipment of medical equipment includes incubators, a portable X-ray machine, patient transport equipment (such as wheelchairs), exam tables, and other surgical equipment.

Nana Kwame Damoah, the Senior Divisional Chief of Manponse, noted that the delivery of health care in Ghana is currently going through tremendous changes as a result of the introduction of health insurance. He observed that efficient health care delivery demands a team work approach, and it makes the transition easier when stakeholders like Golden Star give support.
