In 1987 Arizant Inc. created the category of forced air patient warming when it introduced the Bair Hugger line of warming units.  Arizant went on to become a leading manufacturer of patient warming solutions to prevent hypothermia in surgery.

In October of 2010 3M completed the acquisition of Arizant Inc.
