Forceps come in two basic types, non-locking and locking. Non-locking forceps are often called thumb forceps or pick-ups, and can either be hinged like tweezers or like scissors. An electrosurgical procedure which uses electricity to destroy abnormal growth tissue, such as a tumor. The high-frequency electric current is applied with a needlelike electrode.
