Miller blades are the most popular of the straight blade types. The reduced flange helps to minimize trauma and the curve at the beak (distal end) improves lifting of the epiglottis. These features facilitate greater exposure of the larynx in difficult patients. Blade sizes 2, 3 and 4 have the lamp on their right side.
